Newborn Services FAQ
Aqiqah
When is the time to do Aqiqah?
It is a sunnah to perform Aqiqah on the 7th day after the child's birth! However, if you missed the 7th day, it can also be done on the following intervals of 7 days, such as on the 14th or 21st day.
The time to perform Aqiqah is long and it has no end. Henceforth, there is no end date to perform Aqiqah even after the 7th day. It is only Sunnah to not delay the Aqiqah until the child is almost reaching puberty. If the child has hit puberty, it is encouraged for that child to do it himself/herself.
Can I do Aqiqah before my child is born?
Aqiqah cannot be done before the baby is born, as it is a Sunnah act performed after the child's birth.

Tahnik & Tahlik
When should Tahnik & Tahlik be done?
The Tahnik & Tahlik should be completed on the 7th day of the child’s arrival. However, if you are unable to perform it on the 7th day, it can be done on alternate 7 days such as 14th or 21st day.
Can you explain about the process of Tahnik & Tahlik?
We offer a home-based Tahnik & Tahlik ceremony, where one of our Ustaz will come to your home at your preferred date and time. It is a simple and meaningful way to welcome your newborn in accordance with Islamic tradition.
We will bring the necessary equipment, but it would be helpful if you could prepare a few basic items:
- A bowl (for collecting the hair)
- Tissue or baby wipes
- Dates (for the tahnik)
- Thin/Small Prayer Mat or a cloth to catch the hair
Upon fulfilment, you will receive an e-certificate from us.
How long will the Tahnik & Tahlik session be?
The Tahnik & Tahlik session will take 1-2 hours on average.
Can I choose the Ustaz for my Tahnik & Tahlik session?
We will assign an Ustaz to attend the session. Whichever Ustaz is available at the scheduled time will be appointed, as we coordinate everything to ensure it runs smoothly.
Can you explain about the gold price and where to sedekah?
You may provide us with the weight of the baby’s hair, and we will calculate the amount based on the current gold price in Singapore.
If the value does not match the cost of the food pack or other items, we will check with you to see if you would like to round up the amount. We will then direct you to do the sedekah through our:
> Food Pack Distribution for 4 pax (Mecca)
